We are unusual in the fact that we are a busy competition barn that is constantly producing 20 horses at any time. While all are intended for sale at some point in the future, the horses are not necessarily marketed as we like to have a bit of fun with them first! We train and produce them until they are very confident and ready to excel in new homes. We are extremely proud of the fact that most of our buyers are repeat customers or referrals from satisfied customers. If you are currently in the market for a horse and don’t see what you’re looking for here, we have many horses in the barn that are not listed but could be available if they met their perfect match. Send us an email at info@veronaequestrian.com and let us know what you’re looking for!
Sorry, we do not offer leases or trial periods. Our horses are all in full training on our farm and are in high demand. We cannot send them off the farm for trials or leases as we are busily enjoying showing, training, and producing them in our program.
What is your policy to come try a horse?
•Horses sell on a first come first serve basis. Horses remain available for sale and on the market to other buyers even if you have made an appointment to see them in the future.
•The morning of your appointment, we will not accept offers from other buyers on the morning of your appointment before you arrive, ***same day only***, so that the horse isn’t sold the morning of your appointment while you’re driving to us. Once you arrive, the horse is fully on the market again to all buyers. There is NO HOLD on the horse the day before your appointment unless you’ve paid a deposit and have a deposit contract signed by both parties.
•If the horse sells on the day before your appointment or earlier, we will contact you asap.
•We reserve the right to refuse any offer for any reason or no reason at all.
If you’d like to do a veterinary pre-purchase exam on a horse you intend to purchase, we require a $500 non refundable deposit and a deposit contract signed by both parties to hold the horse off the market for 7 days. This deposit will be applied to the purchase price of the horse when you purchase it. The deposit holds the horse off the market for 7 days to allow you to do a pre-purchase exam, review films, complete payment, and ship the horse. If horse is not paid for in full by the end of the deposit period, horse will be considered available on the market and the deposit is forfeited. Why do many sellers require this now? Because when we list a horse, we may get 200+ inquiries on that horse. Taking a horse off the market means we are missing out on other buyers in that time period. We also spend 3-6 hours of our time with at least 2 staff meeting a vet for a PPE.
What if it takes longer than 7 days to ship the horse?
We usually find it pretty easy to ship horses quickly because we are located in Kentucky and many shippers are based here or have a regular route here. We are happy to help find shipping options for clients. Board is included for 7 days with the deposit. After that time, board will be billed at $$50/day. Buyers generally want to get their new toys home as quickly as possible, and we appreciate that as well since stall space is always at a premium with a wait list of training horses coming in.
How can we pay for our new horse?
We accept wire transfer, Paypal, and Venmo. Just a helpful tip, most people have Venmo limits around $3500, and PayPal allows you to send up to 60 but only from an account that is linked to your bank, which takes up to 5 days so you’ll want to plan accordingly. Horses must be paid for in full before they leave the property, so if you’re looking to pay and pick up on the same day, this necessitates prior planning. We do not take cashier’s checks, personal checks, or Zelle.
